Computer Classes: Understanding Google

Three-session class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Ocoee Training Room. Registration required in person at the Nonfiction or Reference Desk with $5 cash deposit. Deposit refunded after all sessions have been attended. 

Solar Eclipse Watch-a-Thon

Viewing party for the 2024 total solar eclipse with crafts and snacks from 1-3 p.m. in the Community Room. Up to three eclipse glasses per household provided for participants. 

Pokémon Club with Plus Ultra

For all ages to foster a connection with nature outside in the Exploration Garden with Thistle the rabbit and Bunji the bearded dragon Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4 p.m. During inclement weather, this program will be inside in the Meadows. 

Teen Gaming

Ages 13-17 drop-in gaming at 5 p.m. in the Teen Zone with Nintendo Switch, Wii and XBox games, plus a cart full

Listen to tales or practice your own storytelling at 7 p.m. in the Community Room.

Baby Bookworms

Making and decorating miniatures from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the History Branch with supplies and snacks provided by the library.

Plus Ultra Chess Wednesdays

For all ages to learn basic chess skills from the Plus Ultra baristas and challenge each other in gaming sessions. Hosted by Plus Ultra Coffee from 3-5 p.m. in the library cafe and from 5-7 p.m. in their mall location. 

Technology in the Meadows

Collaborative problem solving activities featuring robots, circuits, coding and more for ages 6-12 from 4-5:30 p.m. in The Meadows, our creative space in the Children’s Library.

A quarterly in-depth book review provided by a member of the community at 10 a.m. in the History Branch Parlor. This quarter features “Demon Copperhead” written by Barbara Kingsolver and reviewed by Chris Rouse.

SATURDAY | April 13

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

Tax assistance provided by IRS-certified volunteers for people with disabilities, low income or limited English in the Flex Space Meeting Room from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Copies of photo IDs, dependents’ Social Security cards and 2023 income documentation required.

Creator Kitchen

Cooking program for ages 4-12 and their guardian at 11 a.m. in the Community Room. Guardian participation required. Sign up required by calling 423-472-2163, ext. 118 or emailing etuggle@clevelandlibrary.org.

FOLA Book Nook

Located just past the library’s main lobby, the book nook is a year-round bargain book sale run by the Friends of the Library Association. The nook features a wide range of titles from recent best sellers to classics in new and gently used condition as well as a rotating sale table with special monthly deals. FOLA donates all proceeds from the nook to the Children’s Library annually.
