Do you want to learn a new language? Beginning in August, the library will be acquiring Mango, an online language learning system that teaches practical conversation skills. It’s a fast, easy and incredibly effective way to learn to speak a foreign language. Mango teaches all 4 key language components simultaneously – vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and culture. There will be twelve languages offered during the first year. Mango will be available on our website under Internet Resources. All you will need is a valid library card to access this program. More information will be available before the start date.
There will be a ‘Paying for Education” workshop on July 20th in the Carmichael House Conference Room from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Strategies to use today to save for your children’s or grandchildren’s education will be discussed.
“Preparing Your Estate Plan” workshop will be held July 22nd in the Cleveland Bradley County Community Room from 6 to 8 p.m. The workshop will focus on what to consider when creating a will, the benefits of trusts in estate planning, how to help reduce taxes on your estate, and how insurance can help protect your family.
Both workshops will be conducted by Bobby Ludwig, Financial Advisor from Edward Jones. To register for either or both of these free workshops, call or stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor of the library.
Friends of the Library Association, FOLA, will be hosting the Book and Coffee series on July 16th at 10am at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library. The One Book One Community read, Autumn Winifred Oliver does things different by Kristin O’Donnell Tubb will be discussed and reviewed. All ages are invited to attend this One Book One Community event. There are several copies of the book available at the library. Stop by today to get a copy and support this community event.
