The library has changed the limits on the number of books and audio-visual items you can check out. Beginning immediately, a patron may now check out up to 20 books and 25 fiction paperbacks. The limit on new fiction with a seven day check out period will remain at 4 books. The limit of DVDs has increased to 4 titles per family, books on cassette up to 9, books on CD up to 4 and CDs has been increased to 7. Videos will remain at 5 titles per family.
Now that the deadline for filing your tax forms has passed, tax forms will be at the library until April 29th. After that date forms will no longer be available at the library.
The next movie from Classic Books will be held on April 27th at 6pm in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea will be shown. Come for an entertaining evening and enjoy free popcorn. Purchase dinner at the Bookworm Café before seeing the movie and make a night of it.
There is still time to purchase tickets for Friends of the Library’s Spring Luncheon to be held at the Cleveland Country Club on April 28th. Merchants Alley will begin at 10:30am and continue until 2pm. The Fashion show sponsored by Orange Blossom Boutique and lunch will begin at noon and guest author, Kristin O’Donnell Tubb will speak after lunch. Come out and support the Friends of the Library Association and enjoy a wonderful spring day.
The deadline for the poetry contest honoring mothers is April 23rd at 6pm. Send in your original poetry with a cover sheet containing your name, address, age, telephone number and email. Winners will be contacted the first week in May.
There will be a Teen Coffeehouse Night on April 24th, from 6 pm until 8:15 pm. Join us as we watch “Star Trek”, the popular 2009 movie that J.J. Abrams directed to reboot the series. The film follows James T. Kirk and Spock before they unite aboard the USS Enterprise to combat Nero, a Romulan from their future who threatens the United Federation of Planets. Due to the running time teen coffeehouse will extend 15 minutes later than usual. You may also use the internet and hang out with friends. Drinks and desserts provided.
The Bookmobile will be making its neighborhood stop on April 20th at 15th and Aurora Streets from 5:00pm until 5:50pm. It will continue to Lay Street across from the Boys and Girls Club from 6:00pm until 7:00pm
