In a few days you will notice that when you check out some of your Library materials your return date will be extended into May. This is not a mistake. The Library will be closing for two weeks beginning Monday, April 20th and will reopen on Monday, May 4th at regular operating hours.
The entire collection will be moving into the new space during this closing and getting ready for construction to begin on our existing building. As you can imagine it will take some time to move our entire collection of books, tapes, CD’s, DVD’s, magazines, reference materials and furniture into this new space. The Library staff will also be moving into their new Circulation offices and check-out desk area.
When the Library reopens on Monday, May 4 you will be using our new entrance and will be able to see and appreciate our new addition. It won’t be long for the construction team to rehabilitate our existing space, removing our current stairway to complement our new addition. The Library hopes move everything to their permanent spaces sometime this summer. The end of our building project is in sight. Please continue to bear with us as we enter this final phase of construction and exercise care in our parking situation.
Please note that the tax forms will only be available until our closing in April and there will be no computer classes offered during the month of April due to the closing and construction.
Teen Coffeehouse Night will be on Saturday, March 28th from 6pm until 8:15pm. This month the group will be viewing the movie “Twilight”. Due to the long running time, if you are interested in seeing the movie please be here by 6pm.
The Teen Advisory Group is accepting donations for a fundraising yard sale now through Friday, April 6th. Proceeds will support the summer reading program and other TAG related activities. All items should be brought to the Children’s Department. Call Kimberly at 716-1165 for any large items or for further information.
The Bookmobile will be making its neighborhood stop on Tuesday, March 24th at Cherokee Hills Forest Apartments off of Bates Pike from 6:00pm until 7:00pm.
